A Pittsburgh Pirates Father's Day Tribute

Because today is Father's day, I'd like to give a warm Pittsburgh Pirates Father's Day tribute to all of the fathers out there -- especially my father and my girlfriend's father whom I thank very much for sharing his Pirates family's box-seat tickets with us. I really appreciate the tickets, as I would not have been able to capture these cool up close videos. We all had a great time even though the Pirates lost.

There are many ways to pay tribute to your father on Father's Day. One way is to give him hot dogs. To help me with that, here's the Pittsburgh Pirates Parrot (a.k.a. McClucken) to launch some Sugerdale hot dogs out to a few lucky dads:

Of course, you could also take your dads out to the race. Don't worry moms, there won't be any betting going on -- unless you husband places bets on pierogies -- because it's the Great Pierogi Race (a staple to every Pittsburgh Pirates home game)! What a great way to treat a Pittsburgh (or any) dad by taking him to a pierogi race to watch Onion Saul cruise in for victory!!

Of course, you could always take your dad out to a baseball game. This would be a treat for any dad who loves baseball. The Pirate's PNC park is a great baseball stadium next to the Allegheny River in Pittsburgh's North Shore, and you can get great views of the game from almost any seat in the stadium. There are also great views of downtown Pittsburgh. The next few videos might be painful for diehard Pirates dads to watch, but they're great for diehard Los Angeles Dodgers dads. Both videos below were taken during the 11th inning of the game in overtime. The LA Dodgers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 5 to 3 on June 15, 2013. It was a great game though with some nail biters along the way. All videos in this post were taken on June 15, 2013 by the blog's author. Please visit my YouTube Channel for more Pittsburgh Pirates videos.

In closing, I hope that all dads out there have a very happy Father's Day no matter which team (Pirates, Dodgers, etc.) they may route for to win. May your day and every day be great!

P.S. Watch out for the Pittsburgh Pirates Parrot. He might squirt you with his water gun!
